After high temperature and pressure
reaction under neutral conditions and in the presence of oxidizing agent,
different forms and valence states of lead in the sample to be tested are
oxidized to lead ions. In a strong alkaline solution, the lead ion reacts with
a color developer to produce a yellow-green complex. The complex has the
maximum absorption at a specific wavelength, and the total lead content in the
sample to be measured is calculated by photoelectric colorimetry.
